My long-anticipated journey to Jiuzhaigou finally came true this year, after being postponed for many years due to earthquakes and the pandemic. (With a Dry Season Travel Guide Attached)
Currently, the 10-hour journey to Jiuzhaigou is undoubtedly the most tiring and helpless aspect. But if you stick it out, you'll find it worth every bit of effort.
Water isn't full, but there's snow
Highlights and Features:
The beauty of Jiuzhaigou lies in the harmony between mountains and water. When I visited in March this year, it was still snowing inside the valley. But I was extremely lucky; it snowed the night before, and the sun came out the next day when I entered. I saw the mountains covered in snow and the water in five colors. The photos came out particularly well.
A pool of clear water in the valley
Address and Transportation:
I recommend joining a local tour group, as the journey is quite far and the road conditions are not good. Driving yourself can also be quite tiring. I went from Chengdu, and the price was very affordable.
The waterfall's water was still a bit small
Ticket Information:
There are currently promotions, including buy-one-get-one-free deals. There are also cultural tourism vouchers available.
The ticket checking and queuing hall was empty in the afternoon
✨Tips:
Jiuzhaigou offers different landscapes in each season. Although I visited in March and encountered spring snow, it was also the dry season, so some lakes had very little water. You win some, you lose some.
The scenery is really beautiful
The Jiuzhaigou scenic area is quite large. If you want to see more places, make full use of the sightseeing buses. Otherwise, you might end up walking several kilometers, which can be quite challenging. You can refer to my attached map. The areas marked with red circles are worth seeing. You can also connect them to ensure you see the most scenic spots.

It's recommended to go directly to the highest point first and then move outwards. This way, even if you're tired, you'll be close to the exit and can rest soon.
There's only one place to get food in Jiuzhaigou, and the prices are not cheap. I was curious and tried it out; it was a fast-food buffet, costing 60 yuan per person. If you don't plan to eat there, you can bring your own food to solve the lunch problem.
The dining hall is quite large
You can also prepare instant noodles to eat outside
I heard that the railway is being constructed, and once it's completed, you can take the train directly to Chuanzhusi, and then it will only take about two hours to get to Jiuzhaigou. If you're afraid of carsickness, you can wait patiently and visit after the high-speed rail is opened.
