Here’s a most useful transportation guide to Jiuzhaigou that you’ve visited with a moving train + bus, and we’re sharing it with you now. You don’t need to follow a tour for the whole trip, you can do it by yourself!
Jiuzhaigou Train Station
There are several train stations near jiuzhaigou, organized by distance and accessibility:
- Jiuzhaigou Station (Anle Township, Jiuzhaigou County)
This station is jiuzhaigou nearest train station.
Location: Anle Township, Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, is the nearest train station to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Spot, about 40-50 kilometers.
Transportation: After leaving the station, you can take the scenic spot line bus or cab, the ride is about 1 hour.
Train source: There are direct trains from Chengdu, Mianyang and Guangyuan, such as Chengdu East Station to Jiuzhaigou Station which is about 10 hours’ drive. - Huanglong Jiuzhaigou Station (Chuanzhousi Town, Songpan County)
Location: Chuanzhousi Town, Songpan County, Aba Prefecture, 2,977 meters above sea level, belongs to the section of Sichuan-Qingdao Railway from Zhenjiangguan to Huangshengguan, which will be opened in August 2024.
Distance: about 90 kilometers from Jiuzhaigou scenic spot, about 26 kilometers from Huanglong scenic spot.
Transportation: After leaving the station, you can change to the scenic area through train (rolling bus), or charter a bus to Jiuzhaigou, the drive is about 2 hours. - Zhenjiang Pass Station (Songpan County)
Location: Station on the Sichuan-Qingdao Railway, Chengdu East Railway Station to Zhenjiangguan train has been opened, the ride is about 1 hour 39 minutes.
Distance: Zhenjiangguan Station to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area is about 148 kilometers, need to transfer to a car (about 3 hours). - Mao County Station (Guangming Township, Mao County)
Location: Bright Township, Mao County, Aba Prefecture, about 150 kilometers from Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area.
Transportation: Need to transfer to a car or bus, about 3 hours drive. - Songpan Station (Qingyun Township, Songpan County)
Location: Qingyun Township, Songpan County, Aba Prefecture, 2,817 meters above sea level, is a Sichuan-Qingdao Railway station, about 6 kilometers from Songzhou Old Town.
Distance: about 120 kilometers to Jiuzhaigou scenic area, you can take the scenic area through the bus or chartered buses
Jiuzhaigou Bus Station
1.Chengdu bus station to jiuzhaigou
Xinnanmen bus station to jiuzhaigou
Address: No.2 Xinnan Road, Wuhou District, Chengdu, China
Frequency: at least 4 times a day, departing at 7:10, 7:30, 8:00, 8:40, etc. (frequency may be increased in peak season)
Fare: RMB 128-138
Destination: Directly to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Goukou (about 9-10 hours drive)
Tickets: Tickets can be purchased 6 days in advance through Sichuan Bus Tickets (http://www.scqcp.com).
Chadianzi bus station to jiuzhaigou
Address: No. 289, Section 5, West Third Ring Road, Jinniu District, Chengdu (Metro Line 2 direct)
Frequency: Multiple trips per day, departing at 7:20, 8:00, 9:20, 10:00, etc.
Fare: around 123 RMB
End point: some trips go directly to Jiuzhaigou County (need to transfer to Goukou).
2.Mianyang bus station to jiuzhaigou
Pingzheng bus station to jiuzhaigou
Frequency: 3 times a day, only 2 times directly to Jiuzhaigou scenic area (departure time is concentrated before 11:00 am)
Travel time: about 5-6 hours
Fare: about 75 RMB
Route: Mianyang→Jiangyou→Pingwu→Jiuzhaigou.
3. Lanzhou, Gansu bus station to jiuzhaigou
Lanzhou Bus Center Station/East Station/South Station to jiuzhaigou
Frequency: 1-2 times a day, departure time is 7:30, 8:00, 8:45
Travel time: 10-12 hours
Route: Lanzhou→Linxia→Cooperation→Luqu→Ruoerge→Chuanzhongsi→Jiuzhaigou.
4.Dujiangyan Bus Station to jiuzhaigou
Frequency: 3 times a day (8:00, 9:40, 10:20)
Travel time: about 8-9 hours directly to the mouth of the ditch.
5.Songpan Bus Station to jiuzhaigou
Frequency: 3 times a day (7:00, 11:30, 13:00), about 2.5 hours to Jiuzhaigou
Fare: about 75 RMB.
6.Chuanzhousi Bus Station to jiuzhaigou
Transportation Hub: You can transfer to shuttle buses to Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou here (rolling).
7.Jiuzhaigou Goukou Bus Station to jiuzhaigou
Address: 150 meters northeast of Tierra del Fuego, Zhangzha Town, Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province (near Jiu Tong Sunshine Hotel, about 300 meters from the entrance to the scenic area)
Frequency: Multiple daily direct trips to Chengdu Cha Dianzi Bus Station/Xinnanmen Station, about 8-10 hours’ drive, ticket price about RMB 138.

- Chengdu to Zhenjiangguan by train:
From Chengdu East Railway Station to Zhenjiangguan Station (in the direction of Jiuzhaigou), there are 2 trains per day:
Morning departure: 10:30 from Chengdu East Railway Station, arriving at Zhenjiangguan Station at 12:11.
Afternoon departure: 16:20 from Chengdu East Railway Station, arrive at Zhenjiangguan Station at 17:43.

Step 1: Zhenjiang Pass Station → Songpan County (Songzhou Bus Station)
Free shuttle bus:
Departs from Zhenjiang Pass Station at 12:30 and 17:50 every day.
It takes about 30 minutes to Songzhou Bus Terminal in Songpan County.
Return shuttle bus time: 10:30, 16:00 from Songzhou Bus Terminal
Step 2: Songpan County → Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area
Option 1: Scenic Area Direct Shuttle Bus
3 times a day: 10:00, 14:00, 19:00
