Jiuzhaigou, known as the “fairyland on earth”, has always been a dream place in my heart. Finally, on a crisp autumn day, my friends and I embarked on this long-awaited trip. For those of you in Singapore, the beauty of Jiuzhaigou is definitely worth experiencing for yourself, especially its natural scenery and unique Tibetan culture, which will surely make you forget to come back.
We finally arrived at Jiuzhaigou after about 8 hours of driving from Chengdu. Although the road was a bit long, the scenery along the way already made us feel the charm of nature. After entering the scenic area, we first came to Shuzheng Ditch, which is one of the main ditches in Jiuzhaigou and has a magnificent view. The clear lake, colorful trees, and the snow-capped mountains in the distance made for a stunning picture. Singaporeans may find the lake here particularly novel, as the color of Jiuzhaigou's water is so unique and incredibly blue that it seems to be nature's palette.
Next, we arrived at the Sea of Five Flowers, one of the most famous attractions in Jiuzhaigou. The lake water showed a wide range of colors, from light blue to dark green to golden yellow, as if it was a huge gem set in the valley. We took a lot of photos here and each one is as beautiful as a postcard. Singaporeans will love the serenity and beauty of this place, especially under the sunlight, the lake shimmers as if it is telling you about the magic of nature.
We then headed to the Norilang Waterfall, the largest waterfall in Jiuzhaigou, where the water pours down from a great height and is majestic. Standing in front of the waterfall, we felt the shocking power of nature, and the splash of water brought a touch of coolness. Singaporeans may find such waterfalls new to them as most of the waterfalls in Singapore are small and exquisite, while the grandeur of Nuorilang Waterfalls will definitely be an eye-opener for you.
Apart from the natural scenery, we were also impressed by the Tibetan culture in Jiuzhaigou. We visited a local Tibetan village and learned about their lifestyle and traditional culture. We were warmed by the hospitality of the Tibetan people, who prepared authentic Tibetan delicacies such as ghee tea and barley wine for us. Singaporeans can experience the tranquility and simplicity of a place different from city life, and feel the harmony between man and nature.
On our last night in Jiuzhaigou, we chose to stay at a Tibetan-style B&B in the scenic area. Jiuzhaigou is very quiet at night, with only the sound of the wind and water accompanying us. We sat in the courtyard and looked up at the starry sky, as if we were in a fairy tale world. Singaporeans may find the starry sky here particularly novel, as it is difficult to see such a clear starry sky in Singapore's cities.
Overall, I was impressed by the beauty and culture of Jiuzhaigou. Whether it was the colorful lakes, the spectacular waterfalls or the simple Tibetan culture, I felt the charm of nature and the warmth of humanity. If you have the chance to visit China, Jiuzhaigou is definitely a destination not to be missed. For those of you in Singapore, the beauty and culture of this place will surely make you feel that it is a worthwhile trip.
I hope my travelogue can provide you with some references, and I look forward to you coming to Jiuzhaigou in person to experience the wonders of this paradise on earth!
