Shanghai-Zhangjiajie Transport Guide

In the air:

To reach Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport, you can take a flight from one of the major airports in Shanghai, such as Shanghai Pudong International Airport or Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. This is the quickest choice, which allows you to be at your destination in a short amount of time and save a significant amount of time on travel. The flight duration is often between two and two and a half hours.

Train travel:

There is no high-speed train that has a direct route. It is possible for you to begin by taking a high-speed train to Changsha, which is the capital city of the province of Hunan. Between four and five hours is the amount of time that trains take to travel from Shanghai Hongqiao Station to Changsha South Station. The next step is to make a transfer at Changsha to either a regular train or a long-distance bus in order to be transported to Zhangjiajie. This would add many more hours to the whole journey.

Through autonomous driving:

There is a significant distance between us, which is approximately more than 1,200 kilometers. It takes approximately 14 to 15 hours, depending on the conditions of the road and the speed at which you are driving. Drivers need to make sure they plan adequate rest stops along the journey in order to avoid becoming fatigued.
